Seems like the next logical step to take for mobile communications is to enable mobile infotainment while we commute to and from work in our cars. The smart phone is the first step to enabling internet access anytime, anywhere. As we gets increasingly connected, we want to be entertained and be guided with live traffic information while we drive. We also want to talk to friends and family and get work done while driving. This is the natural progression of mobile communications
Voice recognition, live traffic information, streaming audio, integration of emails and text with voice are all becoming critical pieces of the puzzle. Car to car communications for advanced cruise control systems as well as emergency calls to call centers after accidents are also becoming more affordable and important to consumers. I see a bright further for automotive telematics in the coming decades.
